Banjo & Matilda was launched in Bondi Beach, Australia in 2008 with a passionate yet casual thought of merging luxurious cashmere yarns with the feeling of a sea breeze, sand between your toes and the magic of an early morning sunrise. Life can be complicated, but your sweater doesn't have to be. Founders Belynda and Ben Macpherson wanted to create sweaters that were not only discreetly luxurious, but also captured the freedom of their life by the beach - the freshness of the ocean, clarity of the mind and soul and above all, a noble existence that resonated within the complicated world that we all live in. Fast forward to now, Banjo & Matilda have captured the hearts of customers all over the world for their fun, casual and lighthearted approach to luxury knitwear. Fashion is a serious business for many but let's face it, you don't have to be when you wear a great sweater. Big on quality and small on pretence, Banjo & Matilda sweaters are made from the noblest and most ancient of yarns- cashmere - sourced naturally and ethically from goats in the highest mountains of inner Mongolia. Back to Bondi, Ben and Belynda's personal philosophy of giving back and operating beyond the commercialism of business is reflected in the establishment of their global 'Sweater Exchange' program. Encouraging people of privilege to generously donate their pre-loved sweaters annually to those in need each Winter.
