What began in 1983 as a line of pelts sold out of the trunk of a rented Town Car has transformed into a multinational brand synonymous with luxury fur. Larger-than-life designer Dennis Basso outfits everyone from Upper East Side socialites to hip-hop artists with his “new fur” styles, including cropped fox jackets built just like Chanel's signature boleros, striped chinchilla trenches similar to J. Mendel's originals, and embroidered, beaded black mink overcoats that almost hide the fact that they're fur. After twenty years of sales through solo and group fur shows, the label found a home in 2003 in a massive Madison Avenue flagship, which doubles as a favorite spot for weekend PETA protests. Basso also began designing non-fur ready-to-wear items for his fall 2007 runway show. The label’s discount line has been a huge success on QVC, selling well over a million faux-sable coats.Brand Details
