Introduction: The Rise of Celebrity Endorsements in India

In the dynamic market space of India, celebrities have played a pivotal role in creating relevant brand storytelling and influencing consumers’ buying behaviour. The celebrity endorsement market in India has been accounted for $300,5 million in 2023 and projected to have a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 6,25% from 2023 to 2028. This shows the brands and companies' dependence on celebrities for influencer and celebrity-driven marketing.

Additionally, global firm Kroll reported that the brand value of India's top 25 celebrities has touched $1,9 billion in 2023. Among them, cricketer Virat Kohli has been placed in the first spot with $227,9 million. Then came the Bollywood actors Ranveer Singh with $203,1 million and Shah Rukh Khan with $120,7 million.
